About Sikandra, Agra
Sikandra is a suburb in the north-west of Agra, about 8 km from the city centre, on the Agra–Delhi highway (NH-19, the old NH-2 / Mathura Road). Its PIN code is 282007. The area takes its name from the town around Akbar's Tomb, the red-sandstone and marble mausoleum begun by Akbar and completed by his son Jahangir in 1613, which still stands on the highway here.
Today Sikandra is one of Agra's largest residential belts. A big part of it is Avas Vikas Colony, the housing scheme of the Uttar Pradesh Awas Evam Vikas Parishad (UP Housing Board), laid out in numbered sectors under its Sikandra Yojana. Around it are private group-housing projects, villa colonies and independent houses. Neighbouring localities include Shastripuram, Lohamandi, Kamla Nagar, Dayalbagh and Shahganj.
Projects listed in Sikandra on property portals include UPAVP Green Enclave (UP RERA UPRERAPRJ8201), Ganpati Kings County, Gayatri Manhar Garden, Bhawna Executive Apartment, Pushpanjali Ashiana, Nalanda Tower, PP Town Villa, JR Royal Villa and Ram Ananda. The Parishad is still adding stock: for example, 21 commercial plots in Sector-2C of the Sikandra Yojana were registered with UP RERA in 2025 (UPRERAPRJ331046/06/2025). Always check a project's current UP RERA status before you book.
